First results of Hydrolysis of class A1 woodwaste using the
Second project meeting of the associates and associated partners of the BMA-funded HyAlt4Chem project on 30.01.2018 at the Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy in Potsdam-Bornim.
With original samples from the collection, sorting and screening of class A1 wood from the Reiling group of companies, the first hydrolysis tests were successfully completed at the technical center of Green Sugar AG.
The product yields of sugar hydrolysates of the cellulose and hemicellulose fraction as well as the lignin of the chip fraction determined in advance in the composition at the Fraunhofer WKI, corresponded to the expectations of decades of hydrolytic experience with a wide variety of wood and biomass types.
The partners also took an interested look at the results of the analysis of foreign matter in the waste wood batch. The first product samples of the sugar hydrolysates were handed over to the Leibniz Institute ATB for the subsequent biotechnological work on lactic acid fermentation. At the same time, the Amandus-Kahl Group technical center in Reinbek will carry out the pellet test of wood chips batches and the production of pellet samples and qualities for the follow-up investigations of Green Sugar AG.
