Our young company was founded in 2007 initiated only by private investors.

Green Sugar develops processes for saccharification of arbitrary vegetable biomasses and their refinement. Moreover we create new products based upon these (refined) sugars. Our work bases upon the progressive knowledge of the latest technology of hydrolysis which has been operated on an industrial scale. This technology is commonly known as “Bergius process of wood saccharification” implemented at Mannheim/Rheinau.
Technology/History

In particular we focus on energy efficiency, circulation of mass streams, safety of operations and protection of the environment.

Essential production levels of the saccharification were improved concerning its design and dimensioning followed by patenting and demonstrating those components on a technological scale.

Next steps regarding our future business model comprise the establishment of a demonstration plant and the marketing of our technology by licensing.
